I've just watched the first half of Eurosport's Today at Wimbledon repeat round up of yesterday. I'd kept myself unspoiled by literally jamming my fingers in my ears and singing when they said they'd be showing Henman's match today. So it was a nice surprise to watch him win (from the net!) against 'his old nemesis' Tursunov. Tursunov helped - double faulting on break points, but it must have been sweet to win like tha for Henman.
I also watched Ivanovic, snore. Yes, she's pretty, but I don't thin she has as much as Jankovic an, like Sharapova, may be limited. I watched a bit of Venus Williams's match. Some erratic play from her, and as always, you think that it's in the earlier stages that she will be knocked out if she will be. I don't like the Williams sisters much, but I absolutely hate the idea of them meeting in a match. They're miserable matches.
And then I watched Alun "Who?" Jones (but it was a name that betokened Welsh ancestry) play the match of his life. Nadal still won and with a three sets to one result that I sort of predicted. Jones had his chances, but his lack of experience (or ability to sustain his best playing) failed him at the big points. He did bring some good stuff out of Rafa. But it looks as though Nadal may be injured or certainly without the full tank needed to stay the distance, especially because his style demands he goes the long way around. (I think I managed to avoid a mixed metaphor there). However, he does have a very nice posterior. Ahem.
Oh yeah, the title is because they'd be saying 'And so-and-so is through to the first round, but whosit has yet to play their first round match'. So-and-so usually being a woman and whosit a man.
