I came home while they were closing the roof on Centre, and so I broadly caught up with the results and the discussion about whether the schedulers got it right. Azarenka's preparations reminded me of a boxer and made me laugh. I hadn't seen her play in Wimbledon so far this year, but I had expected her to have too much for Ivanovic. And lo, she had way, way too much. I've been thinking of her as as much of a favourite as anyone on the women's side, And she's now the highest seed left! Plus I quite like her, actually.

At least they played all the women's matches, so we have the quarter finals line-up. Kvitova and Williams's match looks like the tastiest, with both women having been pushed - Shvedova backing up her run at the French and surely she'll build on this and get higher up the rankings. I will be supporting Petra, although I don't know if she'll win. The winner should play Azarenka, who faces the obligatory unseeded player doing well on grass.

Meanwhile, I'd really like to see Radwanska play, because her high seeding is bewildering to me. From what I remember - it has been ages since I saw her play - she has no big weapons. Depth and consistency, maybe, perhaps movement too, but here she is, the highest seed in her half of the draw as likeable Lisicki powered through Sharapova, who was the legitimate favourite. I really do like Lisicki's attitude to the game, but doesn't she look a lot like Kerber and Kirilenko (whom I don't really know either)?

I half-watched Djokovic not be particularly bothered by his compatriot. It quickly became about hoping he'd wrap it up in time for me to watch Today at Wimbledon and see the highlights of more interesting matches. I know that he's world number 1 and defending champion (although both women who held those positions were shunted onto the roofless courts), so they were never not going to put him on Centre, but coming after Azarenka's walkover, it was further grist to the argument that the schedulers got it wrong, although I'd have been arguing for them to play Ferrer vs. Del Potro...

Given the state of Federer's back and the feeling that the other half is tougher (for Murray and the rest of them), Djokovic has to be the favourite, unless if someone rattles him as on the clay, where his progress was much less serene.
