I expect to watch less of Wimbledon than the French Open, so I'll probably have less to say about it. I saw a lot of Golding playing, although I'll own to dipping in and out of the match. Certainly there was a lot of impressive promise there, his serve in particular, but his shot production and his instincts in building up points and being willing to attack, especially as he rebuilt himself in the third set. Lack of experience lost him the tie-breaks. He may develop to be more than a Plucky Brit.

Then I really enjoyed the Watson-Benesova match. The rallies were entertaining and Watson's retrieving skills and 'super tennis' (quoth Virgina Wade, who is probably no longer on Andy Murray's Christmas card list) won her the match against an opponent who couldn't string enough quality points together.

I wish 'Today at Wimbledon' were on at nine (when the live tennis is more likely to end) than eight.
