Have done a solid day's French Open tennis watching. Murray to Sharapova.

I started off quite happy to watch the fourth seeded of the top men (two down of my list of four) in the knowledge that the resumption of Djokovic and Del Potro would follow. Despite abysmal net-play, Murray was in control and then the accident happened. And I was ever so grateful to the French director who decided that we needed to return over and over to the nasty twist. BUT, in a darkly humorous way, the injury made Murray more aggressive, while his opponent - perhaps not used to the situation - lost the game mentally.

Next, the resumption, which did not manage to live up to the standard of the previous night, when Del Potro reminded us how good it was and what a ghastly thing for the game his injuries had been. Djokovic needed to go a break point down to remember his winning ways and then he focused in and won. However, at times, the quality of play was worthy of being much later in the championship and I hope Del Potro will return to his rightful position in tennis soon.

So we saw the end of the Fish and Simon match, where Lloyd and Castle went on and on about Fish even though Simon is a really good-quality player. Anyway, that snippet was notable for umpire James Keothavong's horrible French accent. Very much a rosbif. As was Andrew Castle's completely wrong 'translation' of the post match interview. Does he go around Paris talking English really loudly, hoping that that will make them understand im? Saw most of the first set of the Sharapova match, which was a bit boring. I don't mind the grunts, for the record.
