Day one

Arrived home to see Robson's respectable showing, and inevitable dispatch by Jankovic (still, if she continues to develop that serve, forehand and mental attitude, she should do quite well, thank you.) I was then surprised by the news that Baltacha was out (when I'd last checked the website the scoreline had been favourable), also Schiavone.

I then watched the first two and last two sets of Rochus vs. Djokovic (where was Djokovic's form? There wasn't as much talk of his serve being an issue as there had been in the French, but it seemed to be a more widespread problem.) It was an entertaining match, even before the roof was closed. Between that and Federer having a five-set scare, perhaps in his case cased by a man who was playing the match of his life (and was it just me who had the Lady GaGa song in my head during the highlights programme?) that an issue with his form as per Djokovic, Roddick and the lower half of the draw should be chuffed. And it was strange but pleasant to be watching tennis live that late from Wimbledon.

Day two

I arrived home to find...Sue Barker talking to Tim Henman, but it was clearly not raining and it said Live Tennis above the red button. I found some live ennis, although watching Verdasco explode was as uninvolving as it clearly was to the rambling commentators. Things got more interesting when I found Isner (who looks about fifteen in his face) and Mahut (who knows how to volley). Of course, they had to leave it at two sets all.

Although I have issues with the wrap-up programme (John Inverdale for one and the way he sets up the clips for another: if you hadn't known the results, you'd have to be pretty slow not to deduce what was coming up then). Nadal seems to be on form. Stosur's exit was a shock, because the feeling after the French was that Schiavone played the tournament of her life, but that Stosur was arriving in the top rank.
