TENNIS: Quickly
Jun. 3rd, 2014 07:01 amMore a case of following the headlines for me since my last post, although I did see a fair bit of Murray's last set last night. About those headlines, the men's QFs have only two non top seeds missing (the Swiss aren't coming) and Gulbis and Monfils are quality players. Time will tell if Gulbis's defeat of Federer is a case of Federer fading or Gulbis coming into his own. Perhaps both. I was pleasantly surprised that Murray did manage to beat Verdasco in three after letting Kohlschriber take him to five. Even if the German played extremely well at times. Tsonga's score against Djokovic makes it look like it was a mightily disappointing match from him.
Meanwhile, two top seeds and two former champions left on the women's side. Does anyone dare make predictions?
