TENNIS: Today's results at the Aussie Open
So, Sharapova and Azarenka will vie for the slam and the No. 1 position...interesting. This is the only match I'm expecting to see right through. I like both players about equally, of course, Azarenka is trying to win for the first time, but Sharapova is trying to cement her 'comeback', which gives a reason to cheer for both. It seems like the serve will be crucial. For purely selfish reasons, I hope it will be three sets (i.e. I get to see more tennis) and that both live up to their mentally tough reputations so that we get to see good tennis.
Speaking of, I do wish I'd been able to see Nadal vs. Federer! So, Rafa came up to scratch in the match-up, I'm sure Djokovic and Murray would have liked for it to be in five sets. As with the first semi, I can't call theirs. Will Djokovic's injury be a factor? As I won't be able to watch it properly, I'm slightly grumpy. Oh well, tennis over breakfast on Saturday.
